I'm a first-year Economics PhD student at the University of Exeter, focussed on Applied Microeconomics. My PhD research includes:
My research involves data cleaning and econometrics, a statistical technique used to analyse causal effects while holding other things fixed. I thoroughly enjoy coding, and my favourite languages are Pascal (Delphi), Python, and R. Typically, I solve problems by creating algorithms, web-scraping, data cleaning, or applying econometric techniques. My previous experience includes as a Data Scientist at Lifetime Mortgage Gateway.
I completed my BSc in Economics & Politics (2019-2022) at the University of Exeter. I then completed an MRes in Economics (2022-2024) at Exeter under funding from a Postgraduate Teaching studentship. My MRes dissertation studied the effects of inflation differences on migration patterns, finding that cities with the highest inflation in Q3 and Q4 of 2022 experienced increased migration away from them. I would like to acknowledge Reallymoving.com's support for providing data for my MRes dissertation.
If you have looked up my name because we met at a tourism conference, please see Big Cave Camp.
